Pretty sure the backhoe has been there 2 or 3 weeks. It's not being used obviously.

Nah. Yesterday was the first day it was on site. I saw the truck delivering it on site.

I was thinking the apartment building was going to be at the corner of Falls and Broad instead of behind the new GNews offices. That will negate the height of the apartment building somewhat since it will be totally down in a hole.

It won't be down on a hole because it sit on top of the parking deck.  So on the falls street side it will actually be taller because its a 12 story building on top of 2-3 stories of parking.

Correct. The new G-News office building from lowest to highest point wil be 77 feet tall while the apartment building from lowest to highest point will be around 170 feet tall or so. To compare, the ONE phase II building is 150 feet tall.

Went by today, no activity. This is going very, very slowly. Makes you wonder. No way it is complete by 2018.

Everything is on schedule for a Fall 2018 completion. Building foundation for first office building is almost complete with first floor rebar columns going up currently. Hotel, parking garage, and apartment building to start construction in mid-2017 once G-News moves.

FYI: A temporary protected bike lane was installed on Friday on the opposite side of the street.  If this construction wasn't happening, it's likely that both sides would have been protected.

Site grading permit was approved on August 19th with Fontaine Construction.
