We need pictures! :lol::lol::lol:

Done even though apaladin might faint. :lol:  Completely dwarves the apartment building and other tower crane. Definitely the tallest tower crane I have EVER seen downtown.

Looks to be about 50 feet higher than the apartment one which makes sense as the base for new one was about 50 ft when they added the 2 sections. From the Church St. bridge judging by the height of the crane it looks like you will only see the last floor or 2 over the apartment building which makes sense, 15 stories vs. 11 stories and considering the 2 different elevations of the buildings. Of course I could be totally wrong. They have a different type crane for the apartment building now. Will be interesting to see this building go up in the next 2 years.

They said it is 17 stories.

The crane is much taller than that. It’s 200 feet taller than the apartment building. 350 feet vs 150 feet. You can really see the difference going into downtown on Academy Street.

These are impressive photos, gman, thanks for sharing!  I was particularly interested in this shot, which appears to have been captured from approximately the same height as the Landmark building and shows the significant variation in geography apparent in other skyline perspectives (like the view from Wade Hampton Boulevard).  Falls Tower will become the second tallest building in downtown, but will not appear that tall in the skyline from most angles.

Edit: Adding a gallery posted by someone else showing the crane erection in progress from a unique angle.
