Insomnia had a line out the door about 30 people deep when we tried to go the other night.  The line moved soooooooooo slowly that we gave up.  How long does it take to hand out cookies anyway?  It was averaging 7-10 minutes per group, we were wondering if they were baking the cookies to order.  We went up the street to Great American Cookie and were in and out in less than 5 minutes.

Espnu had a great aerial view of downtown at the start of the Furman game Saturday afternoon, looking south to north but didn’t get camperdown or riverplace. I guess downtown is too big now to get it all in one pic. :dontknow:

Sure is depressing isn’t it?

Spaces is back and will open in April. More here: https://www.greenvilleonline.com/story/news/local/greenville/downtown/2021/01/28/new-piece-downtown-greenville-camperdown-development-opens-bank-of-america/4258396001/

Bank of America

  • A new branch will open its doors Feb. 1, according to Eliza Murphy, global media relations manager for the bank. The branch is leaving its old offices in the 16-story Main Street tower that it has called home for more than four decades.
  • Bank of America signed a long-term lease starting in early 2020 for about 32,000 square feet in the new Camperdown office building at 423 South Main Street.
  • The new space with ample signage will make for a high-profile presence just steps away from Falls Park and the Peace Center for the Performing Arts, the bank's Greenville market president Stacy Brandon told The News in 2018.
  • The bank will be bringing roughly 100 employees from its consumer, home loans, U.S. Trust, Merrill Lynch, commercial and business banking teams to the Camperdown location, Brandon said.
  • The move will leave nearly a fifth of the old building at 101. N. Main St. vacant. CBRE is handling new tenants for the space, listing the lease on its website for $26.50 per square foot.

Spaces

  • The international co-working space is set to openits first office space in Falls Tower in April 2021. The Amsterdam-based company, owned by International Workplace Group, will take 28,900 square feet, marking its first South Carolina location.
  • Co-working spaces are membership-based offices where professionals like freelancers or remote workers can share a space but work independently.
  • “At Spaces, we’re always looking for the next great location to expand our offering that aligns with what we stand for as a brand: being creative, dynamic, and collaborative,” Michael Berretta, vice president of network development for IWG, said in a press release. “Falls Tower and Greenville could not be a more perfect fit and we’re excited for our first Spaces in South Carolina to be in this city."
  • IWG has more than 50 locations in North America. The company's co-working concept boasts access to amenities such as fast WiFi, community events, barista coffee, and reception and mail-handling services.

Elliott Davis

  • Business solutions firm Elliott Davis will relocate its corporate headquarters from 200 E. Broad St. to 435 S. Main St., where it will anchor the newly completed Falls Tower.
  • The new 60,000-square-foot "future-ready space" will foster a modern, adaptable working environment for employees, CEO Rick Davis has said. The firm will use floors four, five and six as well as a first-floor corner office to engage people walking through downtown.
  • The firm is one of 17 that have major international, national and regional headquarters located in Greenville County, according to a list complied by the Greenville Area Development Corporation.

Table 301 restaurant

  • Table 301 restaurant group's addition, still unnamed, will be located in the heart of Camperdown plaza. The new restaurant will join others in the Table 301 family, like Soby’s, The Lazy Goat and Nose Dive.
  • At 3,500 square feet, the restaurant will be smaller than most of Table 301's spaces. It will have three dining areas with combined seating for around 150 people: a main dining room and bar, an outdoor patio area and a rooftop space.
  • While the concept for the restaurant is still taking shape, construction is underway after a short delay, according to Table 301 owner Carl Sobocinski.
  • Drew Erickson is leading the restaurant's culinary charge. Erickson rejoined Table 301 as director of culinary development in August 2020 and oversees staffing and concept design.

Larkin's restaurant

  • The restaurant group signed a lease with Centennial American Properties in 2018 for a nearly 6,000-square-foot space to house a yet-to-be-named restaurant on the second floor.
  • While public details are slim, the concept will reflect and highlight the space’s uniquely modern structure, Larkin Hammond, founder and chief creative officer of the restaurant group, told The News in 2018. She was drawn to the building's large windows and high ceilings, which offer a cosmopolitan feel.
  • The latest addition joins eight existing Larkins restaurant concepts in North and South Carolina and a sizable catering operation with multiple event sites.
  • Recently launched concepts include Limoncello, an Italian restaurant on the corner of Broad and River streets that opened in October 2018, and The L, the 6,8000-square-foot event space located at 211 East Broad Street, which opened in January 2018. The restaurant group also opened a third location of Grill Marks at Haywood Mall.

AC Hotel officially opened today, including Paloma (tapas restaurant on ground floor).  Juniper, the rooftop bar with "greenhouse" space, is slated to open on Wednesday.

Been waiting a long time for this one!

I thought Juniper opened in April.

IMHO not good.

If this endeavor includes the relocation of sales personnel, then it will be a much better fit.  The current studio space, while excellently positioned from the outside, is awkward and cramped inside.  The new location would provide more usable structure and still incorporate a "plaza view."

Just leaves a prominant empty space in a high traffic area. Hopefully someone will move in if anyone can afford it.
