I don't think a consolidated Orange County would create as drastic a political realignment as the Toronto amalgamation.  Orange County has turned decidedly blue over the past 20 years, and there's usually been a friendliness towards downtown interests of the county commission, outside of the more Tea Party commissioners that are becoming more of a minority; I would be more concerned if the proposal included merging Seminole County with Orange County.

The only thing Rob Ford shows me is that there should be resistance to Rob Ford.
