^^Kinda odd looking.  Will wait to judge it until I see it finished....but something about the awning and rooftop are a bit odd looking with the glass box.

Hadn't seen those before. I'd say it is probably hard to make that rendering look right. For one, we are seeing an elevated angle no one will ever see. Secondly, I don't think you can really capture how good the 30 foot tall glass (guesstimating) at the corner will look in an image, will have to be seen to be appreciated.

The awning looks like it may be to shield views of the restaurant patio from pedestrians at street level. Apple doesn't control the rooftop space, so they have no control of the plantings, decor, etc. This is likely their way of keeping the Apple store looking streamlined from the street.

I suspect they may have decided these things are not worthy to be affixed to such a prominent building.

I tend to doubt this would be a decision. Alot of time and money goes into the design, manufacturing and install (and re-installs) of these panels. If they were abandoning this design element that is a large re-design including new attachments embedded in the concrete. There is a whole myriad of issues as to why these things keep going up and down. Depending on the circumstances of these panels (which could be anything really), most likely it is either the contractor is paying for the issues because they are installing them wrong or the manufacturer is because things were not produced according to shop drawings and design. I don't ever recall seeing a wall mockup for this job, so maybe that got VE'd from the project and the contractor is now suffering the consequences because install is going poorly.

Fox Restaurants Concepts will bring its 2nd eatery to 5th & Broadway, to be called The Twelve Thirty Club. Renderings show that Fox Restaurants Concepts is taking over the space previously reserved for Swedish fashion giant H&M. The space will also include rooftop access.  Their other concept on the site will be Blanco Cocina  & Cantina.

On the high-res you can see that Hattie B's is the on the ground floor at the corner of the internal street and across from it is Eddie V's.

Man...I love *love* food but it would be nice to have a bit more retail mixed in. You can only eat so many meals (and drink so many drinks) in one day. I was holding onto the slim chance that Uniqlo would slide into the H&M spot.

Agreed... I don't know how much more, if any, available space there is remaining, but if there is I really hope it is filled with more retail options.  When this was first announced I thought it was going to become a true downtown shopping and dining destination with a variety of eclectic options.  As it stands right now though it's really just a glorified food court with an Apple Store on the end.  Still a great development overall of course, that goes without saying, but I was really expecting more in the way of tenants.  To my knowledge there aren't really even nightlife venues in the development either, is that correct?  I thought it would have been a phenomenal spot for something like Brooklyn Bowl, Dave and Busters, or Lucky Strike.
