What does 'final' rendering mean?  If a developer is this close to completion, why would they do 'final' renderings?  Just trying to learn the process here.

This is the first rendering I’ve seen that contains signage for the actual tenants that will occupy space there. It’s also the first time we’ve gotten an idea of how the Apple Store will be integrated into the development. I guess it would be good to render what the final product would look like with all of the tenant signage in place.

Yes.  And you want first class images to attract renters and office tenants.  There is still a lot of leasing to do.

Just think back to the old convention center. I know we all wish the office portion had more height, but this is such a huge improvement over what we had before. A really awesome evolution for that site.

What cracks me up is - and look we all know how dumb and uninformed social media commentators are - for example if you go to the Tennessean's facebook post of this article. There are idiots commentating, "This is disrespectful to the Ryman! They are blocking light to it" and "Nashville is being ruined, they are destroying what made it special!" - I'm like, you fools. There was a giant teal and concrete convention center at this site that did not activate or engage Broadway or 5th. Across from the Ryman was a blank concrete wall... SHUT UP ON WHAT YOU KNOW NOT.

Sorry! Just don't like that orange/brown/mustard color scheme. Ugly and throwback to when fashion was hideously ugly... the 1970s. 

  At least it's not as bad or drab as people's continued (for far too long) obsession with gray EVERYTHING for interiors. It NEVER really looked good... barely even the first time it was big back in the 80s! It's as if Noone knows how to be original anymore! Nope. That side is going to stay orange to match the roofs of the food hall and the siding on the NMAAM.

A $600,000 permit has been issued for the build out ofthe Apple Store at the corner of Broadway and 5th Ave.

Basic images show the contemporary structure will stand about 32 feet tall at its zenith and will feature a limestone, granite, stainless steel, wood veneer and glass exterior. Australia-based Woods Bagot is the architect.

The west side of the mechanical screen has been finished in light gray.  I assume they will carry that over to the east side as well.  Sorry Vols, no orange top.

There is hope for orange.  Today they stacked what appear to be pavers for the green balcony on the west end of the office tower and they seem to be very orange.  Now that could change but I wanted to encourage UT fans before the tournament cranks up at Bridgestone Arena.

Sephora is a very recognizable, trendy brand that will really add a new twist to the 5th & Broadway development. I'm happy to see this.

More work on the green deck of the office tower.  They have made wooden forms which appear to be alcoves for seating or possibly planters.  In this photo they are covered with plastic due to rain.  Still can't discern what the orange stacks are.

Blancos Tacos and Tequila has landed a $1.7 million permit for their build out (Dowdle Construction handling work).

Slim & Husky's has landed at $237.500 permit for their build out (C3 Construction handling the work)..
