Whatever happened to the House of Blues rumored occupancy of this development? 

That would be such a 'natch' for that location.

 

I had thought that was part of the previous proposal for this location... The one with the boxy-looking high-rise that nobody liked.  :whistling:

This development plan sounds like it's real. I thought it was just another "Day Dreaming" project. I LOVE the idea of high-end shopping since I work in the AT&T building. I can walk over during lunch and purchase a Versace or Vera Wang piece for an evening on the town. It's time for some couture attire in downtown. If I see one more chick in a dress with cowboy boots I'm going to SCREAM. I don't know who decided that was cute, but it is not.

I get that Nashville makes a ton of money on the country music industry, but I really wish they would incorporate more genres of music in the downtown scene i.e., Jazz, reggae, hip hop, etc. I would LOVE to go to a nice jazz spot after work since I work in the AT&T building and have a nice dinner and a cocktail, and chill until the traffic dies down.

I work downtown now in the AT&T building and as I was leaving downtown, I noticed a portion of the parking lot next to the Encore has been ripped up. Has the SoBro officially broken ground?

Good... Now they can give Mrs. Ingram some of her money back. I love Mrs. Ingram. She's the one that moved me to Nashville. I no longer work for her, but she's a wonderful person. I now work for a  Law Firm in the AT&T tower.

I work in the AT&T tower so I'll find a way to knock it off the building if they put it up.

Sitting in my office (in the AT&T building)  looking at the new Amphitheater going up on the old Thermal Plant site. That stage is huge. Will there be enough room for people to sit?

I work in the AT&T building and looking out at the Gulch, I see two cranes. One is taller than the other. Are there two buildings under construction or just the one right now?

Yes, the trucks are stopping me every morning now. I'm going to have to find a new route in the mornings on my way to my office in the AT&T building.

I work in the AT&T (Batman) building and my office is on the side where I will be able to see this baby slowly rise (no pun intended).

Yes sir... I saw that on my way into the office this morning. My office is in the AT&T building on side overlooking the Sobro site. The downside is, I can't concentrate on work this morning because of this. LOL!!!!

Great news about Sheet Music; however, are there any conversations going on about improving the infrastructure? I work downtown in the AT&T tower and live in Green Hills and It is literally taking me over an hour to get to my office in the mornings and an hour or more to get home.

On my drive into the office (AT&T building) this morning, I noticed some guys on the SOBRO site using paint to mark off the existing parking lot. Just thought I'd share. Not sure if it means anything is happening or not.

Just now getting into the office (AT&T building) and drove by the SoBro site just a few minutes ago. Concrete barriers are up and the lot it closed.  They were also removing the parking lot pay station.

I work in the AT&T building and I can see the groundbreaking tent setup on the Bridgestone site. WOW! I was caught off guard by this announcement. Wasn't expecting things to move this quickly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'm pretty sure we're all well aware by now that you work in the AT&T building.... :good:

Lately I keep calling it the Bellsouth Tower, knowing full well that isn't its name anymore. Oh well, habits won't die.

 

Many more of us refer to "Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport" as simply "Washington National" (or "National", as a former Washingtonian myself from back in the early '60s).  Most of us skyscraper phreaks still refer to the Willis Tower as the Sears Tower.  It's a good thing they don't try to levy fines on us for not calling them things whatever they choose to do, after transfer of property or following the sale of naming rights, or worse yet, the renaming of portions of certain streets nationwide to honor the deceased.  I'm pretty much all for renaming for persons who had gained some national public awareness, but I still refuse to call 18th Ave. North, between Charlotte and Clay St, as "Dr. D.B.Todd, Jr. Blvd".  Hell, that alone can make one develop "carpal-tunnel" of the mouth.

 

I have no reason to suspect that Vandy ever will change the name of it's iconic Kirkland Tower, or even the recently reconstructed and enhanced residential halls of Kissam Quadrangle, at 21st and West End, but if the quad did get renamed, then the region as a whole would not "miss" it.  On the other hand, "Kirkland" is branded into the minds of most Nashvillians.
