MDHA design review committee unanimously approved a Fifth + Broadway sign package with the condition the retail tenant signs meet downtown code guidelines for materials and lighting.

So it looks like we're not going to get the flashy H&M facade that other cities have, despite being next door to a neon extravaganza.  The signage looks "tasteful" to me and that's not a complement.

I’m not sure what you mean by flashy, but I’ve seen quite a few H&M stores in major cities around the country and this seems on par to me.

This looks like their mall stores, like at cool springs.

Saw a crane base with a section of crane installed as I cruised by this morning, Couldn't tell if there were others. I would think at least three and maybe four.

I saw the same thing Sunday afternoon and forgot to post about it. It looked like it was in the middle of the site (if I was, in fact, seeing a crane base), which leads me to believe it’ll be working on the retail components. I didn’t see any other sections of the crane lying around, so they could just be putting the base in early as a point of reference for the site. I’ll try and drive past it a few times later this week and see if there’s any progress on the cranes.

2019. It’ll take months to even get the foundations set up. They’re just digging a hole now. I predict summer of 2019.

I've noticed the construction fence along the Broadway side of the Bridgestone Arena for a few weeks.    What work is being done there?

The arena seems to be supplementing its ice making or air conditioning mechanicals. Behind the barriers are huge refrigerant units leased from Trane.

Looks as if first crane is going up here. If its not the first crane then segments are being off loaded now.

I wonder if they will utilize or close what seems to be the famous tunnel leading under broadway to the arena...?

^ ^ ^ That tunnel could be a plus when the Bridgestone Arena  Hotel/Entertainment Zone gets built to connect both complexes beyond just street level.
