I’m trying to think of a tenant that has the clout and money to do something like this. I keep coming back to an Apple flagship store, but Broadway doesn’t really feel like a place for Apple.

Guess I need to apologize for my joke since I got a warning for it, which honestly really surprised me because there was no malintent. I actually thought the email I got was in error. I didn't realize a joke about how women being obsessed with mimosa  would be considered offensive. Or as Neo put it "Abusive Behavior" for a you must be female comment. Like seriously....one of my sister's has a t-shirt that says "It's mimOsa not mimosA" (Harry Potter reference for those that don't understand) So sorry if I offended you Paul.

 

The thing that pisses me off is now my profile says "abusive behavior" on it and that will never expire. Really?? Abusive??  Guess political and religious attacks are free game on here, but a joke about girls drinking mimosas....

I try to be cool with you folks, but you guys get upset when we put our foot down sometimes and when the big man comes in and gives warning post everyone should take note. Some of the things that are said that may be a joke could offend others. 

This is a very busy forum with a lot of traffic so guys really be mindful of what you say. We just have so much going keeping track of all the development and then all the jokes and the things that are not jokes that can be considered stirring the pot and just causing trouble. Some days my head just plain hurts.

Guys I know we like to have fun here as much as anyone but lets try and keep the threads on topic as much as possible. Man we really get off on some tangents sometimes.

OK... any guesses? That's some high dollar square footage they just demolished. Took out a lot of rooftop food court space too! Plus, just personally I hate street corners that have been cut back from the actual street.

I'm trying to make sense of it.  I'm assuming it has to be someone that maybe wants something that has a 2-story ceiling "open" concept...maybe?  I'm guessing we all should be excited...because it has to be someone with a lot of money to tear down and start over to build a specific structure.

Of course, there's always a chance they've decided to move "Stix" to that site and are just making room for it.

Maybe Brooklyn Bowl decided to move there instead?  I guess that's unlikely given the high probability that all the T's are crossed and I's already dotted in their contract at the Sounds stadium retail building.  Hmmm... tis a titillating mystery indeed!

Maybe Walgreens wants in after all. A two story flagship store on that corner could generate considerable revenue. (The one in the photo is at the corner of Randolph and State in Chicago.)

It would stand to reason that the corner retail tenant has already signed a lease considering the structural changes that are underway -- so what would be their reasoning for being secretive about a name, especially with so many of the other retail/restaurant tenants already announced?

Wouldn't shock me if it was a change from H&M. 

In my opinion, I hope they keep the corner cut back a bit. The corners at legends and Ribbys are tight and dont fit people very well. With this corner being the true start of lower broadway, I would want something a bit more open - similar to the bridgestone plaza but obviously not an entire plaza - so that people could gather to wait for signals, but also to deal with people taking photos or waiting for ubers. This is also a safety thing for people to see around corners easier
