Some pics in a tour of Capitol View Phase II's residential portion, which includes a wine cellar, poker room, songwriters' room, golf simulator, yoga studio, a "zen courtyard," a turf volleyball court and a saltwater swimming pool.  Apparently 100 of the 378 available units have leased so far in just the first few weeks.

Valerie Boutique (women's clothing retailer), has landed a permit to build-out it's new location in the HCA building.  It will be in one of the street level spaces that has not been filled previously.

The Residences at Capitol View has hit a milestone, with 100 units now leased, after reaching its first 50 leases in early October — within the first 90 days of preleasing.  The building is home to 378 residences.

^^ A great overall turn around to a very blighted area...just wish they had gone about 30% taller on the 3-4 main structures.

Yeah I wish they'd gone taller with at least a couple of them, but the pace they've maintained has been incredible, way above expectations. This was 30 acres of parking lots and weeds just four years ago, and it's pretty far removed from any other real downtown development. But they've been relentlessly filling in project after project. I'd have bet money that it would take them 10 years to build out this much of it. They're like the opposite of Market St.

^^ Yes, but this development (in one iteration or another) has been in the works since 2008 by Northwestern.

Also, I guess we should thank Alex Palmer .... if he had not lost HCA to Capital View I doubt the build-out would be this far along.

Except for the lots that bordered Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd (formerly Charlotte Ave,) the other structures cannot rise higher the base of the State Capitol per city codes.

The new 2.5 acre park space being created to the east o Capitol View will be called Franke Pearce Park, named for the late and influential African-American suffrage movement leader Juno Frankie Pierce.  The park is a result of a public–private partnership with Metro Nashville to finance a green space for the city and its residents.

It will be open to the public and offer sand volleyball courts, a playground, a dog park and a yoga lawn. The park is also a trailhead for the Gulch Greenway, completing a link in the system and connecting Capitol View to a system of over 190 miles of biking and running trails throughout Davidson County.
