This has become one of my favorite hangouts. I can have a cappuccino at Starbucks, then walk a block south where things open up and I can get a view of most of the new construction. And there is always free curbside parking.

Capitol View parking garages are also free, aren’t they?

I know the Publix one is. I’d imagine they’d at least match the gulch and give an hour free.

The HCA one is. The first floor and the basement levels are free for the public.

I was in the new Publix at Capital View downtown and was surprised how well virtually all the shelves were stocked, with a good crowd and very helpful staff.  The Green Hills Kroger and Belle Meade Publix are pretty bare in many areas, canned goods, pasta, frozen foods particularly.

The space between Hampton Inn on the north and HealthStream Office Building on the south has now been cleared. Was a staging area for Hampton Inn for past year. I believe that eventually there will be a shorter multi retail/restaurant structure here.

Looking north from 11th Ave. North, 1/2 block north of Nelson Merry St:

I hope so, as just a grass plaza will be a misses opportunity. I just don't recall what the renderings called for at this space.

Capitol View Master Plan shows future retail in that space.

For those asking, parking is free on the grade level in all three garages  Street parking is limited to two hours although I've never seen any enforcement.

That is correct

Yes. Parking will become tight when the Hampton opens, though
