NC had considered $2.5 billion for Boeing

NC had considered $2.5 billion for Boeing if it built its plant in Kinston. The state settled for $600 million plus. State leaders were pushing for Kinston first, Greensboro second and Charlotte third.

It is disappointing to read this.  The state's development efforts should match areas where the company is most likely to locate rather than pushing areas based on politics.  But, in the end, Boeing was not going to come to NC.
