* Gross area of 4,870,000 square feet

* 2,779,242 square feet of retail space

* Currently has over 520 stores

* 96% occupied

* 11,000 year-round employees - 13,000 during peak periods

* 40 million annual visitors

* 4 out of 10 visitors are tourists

 

Attractions include:

* Nickelodeon Universe theme park - 24 rides

* Sea Life Minnesota Aquarium - 1.2 million-gallon aquarium

* LEGO play area

* A.C.E.S. Flight Simulation

* Moose Mountain Adventure Golf

* Rick Bronson's House of Comedy

* Amazing Mirror Maze

* The Flying Dutchman Ghostly Gangplank Ropes and Adventure Course

Mall of America Phase II Expansion

* $2.5 billion expansion

* An additional 5,600,000 sq. feet will be added

* 300 new retailers, movie theaters and hotels

* Will integrate IKEA

* 20,000 sq. ft. of event space

* Museum-quality exhibit space

* Water park

* Phase II will target additional upscale customers with an annual household income of more than $100,000 as well as families with older children

* Will attract an additional 20 million annual visitors

* A $135 million, 500-room Radisson Blu hotel has already opened on the south side of the MOA

 

The first part of the expansion, called 1C, is already underway on the mall's north side and will include:

* 3-level expansion to the existing three-level mall and will include 50 new stores

* New atrium for public events

* 330 room hotel

* 10-story, 210,00 sq. foot office building
