Lansing Riverfront

Recommended Posts

Marketplace is an 80-unit apartment project being built next door to the Lansing City Market, across from the ballpark, and a block or two from the Stadium District mixed-use project.  It began construction in the fall of 2013, and is the first wing or a two-phase building.  If demand warrants, a second building will be built along Cedar Street, and would most likely be mixed-use retail and commercial space, but could also include a residential component.

This rendering shows what will eventually be a central parking courtyard, but for the time being will be an ugly surface lot out front of the building, unfortunately.  This is far from urban despite being built in the downtown area.  The second wing will attach at the right:

The first wing of the first phase of Marketplace is complete.  Move-ins started last week, I believe.

Dependent upon how successful this is, they'll add the next wing as future demands, and a multi-story commercial/retail building (Phase 2) could be added along Cedar across from the ballpark.
