On this morning's run by J Dubs, a bobcat and backhoe were moving gravel on the lot next door.  Couldn't tell what they were doing but it did not look big.  Perhaps prepping for some pavement?

I meant to grab a picture of this. Both of these are on site moving earth. My guess is they are beginning to spread the base for the park. When I saw them, there were also two survey workers staking out different points. Are we expecting any man-made hills in the park?? Not sure what they would be staking out other than potential grade changes or irrigation.

Also, I have been intrigued by the art piece in the plaza ever since it appeared a couple weeks ago. It appears to be all binary code, with paths to the other black marble circles. There are also quotes about man's accomplishments because of ideas and goals. Binary experts on the forum??

From what I can see, I am guessing it spells out the quote?  Pure assumptions here:

01010101 01001101 = "um"  --> Human?

01001001 01010011 = "is" --> is?

00100000 01001001 = " I" --> "space" I?

01001110 01000011 = "nc" --> Essence?

etc.

Here is what the space along Demonbreun that will be developed into the private park for the hotel looked like a few weeks ago.  Getting prepped to landscape, etc.

So, I got to try some appetizers and drinks at Bourbon Steak on the 34th floor. The food was amazing and the view was incredible (or vice versa hahaha)! While the restaurant has a dress code; in the bar area, there were several people wearing jeans and a few in shorts. But I would still recommend dress slacks or khaki for guys, and definitely a nice shirt. But really, the apps and drinks we had were outstanding! A great place to impress a guest!

My boss had dinner there the other night and said it was hands-down, the BEST meal he's had in Nashville. Also the lobster pot pie was one of the best things he's tasted in his life.

A permit for $1.2 million has been granted for the construction of the private park space adjacent to JW Marriott. City Construction will handle the work, and Hawkins Partners designed the space which will include a dog run, event lawn, restrooms and an entry plaza and be geared toward the hotel’s guests. A mural will be painted on the wall facing to the north.

While we wait for a tower to fill this lot, this park will look very nice while entering downtown on Demonbreun.  Hope the fencing doesn't block the view from the street and sidewalk.  Just a block away on the north side of the street, the brick driveway to the Frist Center with two tree-lined sidewalks is a treasure and I pray it never goes away.
