Downright maddening when I think of what was destroyed at that site.

Couldn't agree more.  When you come in and destroy an antebellum mansion, not to mention scores of beautiful old trees, for your project, YOU HAVE NO ROOM to then get cold feet and start wavering on whether or not you're going to build something.  If this thing doesn't happen, Nashville should boycott any and all Virgin products.

Remember Virgin didn't destroy that house. Chase did. Virgin was simply offering a franchise opportunity. Chase couldn't afford it.

I really doubt virgin develops this site on their own. Seems like a good site for sky house 2 imo.

You're right, thanks for the correction.

When I become king, I am going to rebuild every historic home we've lost on the PSC Metals site.

Actually, I don't think there was all that much on that property before. The real fancy mansions and townhouses that were destroyed in the fire of a century ago were to the blocks east of there.

I think he meant that's just where they would go.

I will contribute once I get that billion!

Drove by there today.  Not only is the site that once held a gorgeous, historic home still empty, it is now choked with 4' tall weeds.  There are good developers and bad developers.  And then there are asshats.

Agreed. Why does the city seem so unwilling to actually do anything about this sort of thing? I mean, it's pretty easy to make a case that this and Palmer's fiasco are public nuisances...give them three options: turn it into a public green space until you figure it out (not really doable with Palmer's case), start construction, or have the property condemned and turned over to the city for re-sale through eminent domain.

From article:

"Among other amenities, it would feature a recording studio, a music venue that can seat 150-200 people (and a VIP lounge adjacent to a suspended catwalk), and a rooftop pool and lounge."

Suspended catwalk?

With the suspended catwalk, it sounds like the design could be similar or the same as the old design, since there was a catwalk between the hotel and condos.

So likely it will now be one tower not two?   I'm guessing a glass box, but would welcome something with a little flair.

I hope it's at least as cool as the original design.  Have to think that IF Branson has any say on the design, he'll want something that's at least partially eye-popping.
