I'm disoriented - which way will the rooftop view face?

The open rooftop view faces west (looking toward Vandy/Aertson);   the covered portion of the roof faces east;  the triangular point faces north.

Where are they going to put the Virgin logos? This might be one of very few occasions that I think a building could improve with visible branding and signage.  Tastefully incorporate a couple giant red Virgin logos on it and this thing might start to look kind of sleek.

Yeah...if we're going to have a Virgin Hotel, I want people to know that's what it is.  Probably won't be that many cities worldwide with one of these.

I'm thinking the below signage in Nashville Neon will do.

I know many people dislike this new development, and I agree, the original render was very spectacular, but I really like this dark-colored exterior. Plus, its INFILL!!!

Could you elaborate on what was knocked down to create Lake Palmer?...I honestly don remember what was there before...

The one detail that stood out the most eye-catching to me was those columns, built of somewhat variegated orangish-yellow curved brick ─ masonry that you just don't run into very often.

Palmer could pull a rabbit out of his hat and build a new tallest for the city in another location and I still wouldnt be able to forgive him for destroying one of this city's great architectural treasures for a giant hole in the ground.  Inexcusable.

Based on what I've heard about Mr. Palmer, I'd bet he can't afford to buy even one rabbit to fill a pot much less that hole. Unless the debt collectors are willing to give him one.

For even established developers add 3-6 months to their timeline. For unknown developers add more.

Found this website and they go into a lot of detail about the hotel...including the "Shag Room."   Also...maybe a new render we haven't seen?

Virgin hotel - nashville

Nashville, TN

Given the Virgin brand’s roots in music, the new Virgin Hotel is appropriately located in Nashville’s historic Music Row neighborhood.  The hotel is comprised of over 250 guestrooms and suites and houses the signature Virgin Commons Club.  The Commons Club is the perfect area for both work and play and includes the Funny Library, the “Kitchen” dining experience, the Club Bar and Lounge, the Shag Room and a variety of interior and exterior spaces designed to accommodate a wide variety events and gatherings. The Commons Club is positioned to connect guests to the neighborhood and to connect the neighborhood back to the hotel. The arrangement of the interior and exterior spaces welcomes neighbors to the hotel’s amenities and helps guests feel connected to the Music Row location. 

The project also features Virgin’s groundbreaking guestroom design which combines the hallway, closet and bathroom into one luxurious dressing area.  The dressing area can be secluded from the sleeping area by a sliding divider panel.  This combination of both privacy and flexibility provides the perfect guestroom for single travelers, couples (and pets!) alike.  Topping off the project is the Rooftop Bar and infinity edge pool with sweeping views of downtown, Vanderbilt University and the green hills of Tennessee beyond.  The Virgin Hotel project is a design partnership between BLUR Workshop and Hastings Architecture Associates. It is due to break ground in Summer 2017.

Yeah...other than NYC, none of them are eye-popping designs.  Wish they would build our first render...but at least we're not getting that Silicon Valley dud.
