I wanted to be excited, but this just is not to exciting to me.  I hope they add some great lighting or something.  I have not stopped to look at it person in a while either.

I feel like the victorian house torn down for this great project could have been salvaged and re-incorporated to the storefront, at least in a limited fashion.

The old house was a beauty spot that leant character to the neighborhood. This is just a large spot that lends a little bulk to the skyline but does little for you up close. From a distance Manhatten's skyline is spectacular, but once you are down in one of the canyons something has to be going on up close in order for you to gain much from the experience. Nashville's strength is that there is a wealth of things going on up close.

Virgin Hotel has started taking reservations. Opening is set for May 3rd.

Some of the features include:

- Commons Club is a restaurant/relaxation area off the main entrance of the hotel and is described as a “members-only experience that’s open to all,” according to a news release.

- The Pool Club Rooftop & Bar will serve “light bites” and cocktails. 

- Funny Library Coffee Shop, which will be on the first floor of the space. The coffee shop is described as a communal workspace that will have an “assortment of whimsical and funny books and games."  It will serve coffee from Laughing Man, the brand co-founded by actor Hugh Jackman.

- Infinity pool on the roof

- There  are 262 rooms (known as "Chambers") ranging from 291 to 592 sq. ft.

- Two ballrooms

Was just about to say the same thing... the building looks nice, but the way it addresses the street all the way around just really puts it over the top for me.  What a game changer for that neighborhood!  Hopefully future developments in that area follow suit.

this project was delayed due to the original developer getting in legal trouble

Not to mention the change in design. Not sure why  that came about even if the David Chase was in a bad situation.
