The cranes came down earlier this year as the topping to the newest Class A office building continues construction on the corner of West Fourth & Broad Streets. Developed by John Reece & Commercial Realty Advisors, The five-story building will feature a rooftop conference room, covered terrace and an exercise facility. The 55,000square foot building continues to get closer to its early fall 2014 opening. Financial services firm Atlantic Capital Advisors LLC will be the primary tenant. Atlantic Capital Advisors – which is also the external manager of Hatteras Financial Corp. and ACM Financial Trust – plans to move in September from its offices at 110 Oakwood Drive to its new downtown space. Michael Hough, chief executive officer of Atlantic Capital, also issued a statement: “I can’t think of a better location to establish a permanent residence for our business. John’s locally focused approach to development was important to us and, along with the building’s attractive appearance and convenient location, makes it something we can be proud of. We are pleased to occupy 751 West Fourth alongside one of the city’s most valued institutions, The Winston-Salem Foundation, and we plan to be good neighbors to those around us.”

Earlier this year, The Winston-Salem Foundation also announced that it would be relocating into 12,000 square feet for its 24 employees. With Atlantic Capital Advisors and The Winston-Salem Foundation now announced as tenants, approximately 11,000 square feet of Class A office space remains available for lease at 751 West Fourth.

The first multi-tenant office building to be developed in Downtown Winston-Salem since 2000 has been named North Carolina’s top building project of 2014 by the N.C. branchof the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP), the nation’s leading professional organization of commercial real estate developers, it was announced today by Commercial Realty Advisors the developer of the project. Several other major – and in some cases, larger – projects across the state, including in Charlotte, competed for the award, .

A distinguishing feature of the 751 West Fourth project was the fact that it was 100% locally sourced. The architectural firm was archSTUDIO7, which played a pivotal role in designing a structure that complemented its West Fourth Street surroundings, dramatically enhanced the city’s skyline, and created an open and occupant-friendly interior environment. Frank L. Blum Construction Co. was the general contractor, and Stimmel Associates was the civil engineer. Walter Robb Architects, Steele Group Architects and archSTUDIO7 contributed to the design of the current tenants’ respective office spaces.
