I noticed today that City of Tally Crews were clearing this site of grass and undergrowth.... some low limbs were being chipped to pieces... Is this a sign that construction may commence soon- or just some fall cleaning?!

For now its probably fall cleaning, Murph. Or making a site attractive for purchase. As of yet the site hasn't been purchased by JQH so it may be a while before we see some construction.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like we might not have closed the deal with John Q. Hammons. I've not been able to confirm this with the city, but Tallahassee has been removed from the company's list of projects "ongoing and researching".

ok... to follow up on this...

I just contacted Michael Parker with the city who told me talks are still underway and some sort of resolution should be reached within the next 45-90 days.

I also called Meyer Jabara, the Civic Center Marriott folks, who basically told me their project is dead. The exact words were, "It's not happening!"
