This is moving forward in the development tracking website and the Planning commission. There have been recent post for the property.

A request for final plat approval to create one lot within the Sky House Nashville Specific Plan District on properties located at 1707 Broadway, and 109, 115, 119 and 121 17th Avenue South, at the southwest corner of 17th Avenue South and Broadway (1.47 acres), requested

That residential building with "fins" left of The Atlantic is Twelve Atlantic Station, one of Novare's first developments.

Although it looks similar, that's not actually one of Novare's Skyhouse developments but The Atlantic, which is one of Novare's larger developments. It's much, much larger than the Skyhouses. Their Skyhouse developments are about the same size as Twelve, the smaller tower next to it.

^ That's definitely The Atlantic photographed. Novare is based in Atlanta and has many developments there. You may have saw a sign for the Skyhouse in Midtown or one of the other areas.

When they get this going, it should fly form up pretty fast. They are so used to doing this design, or something similar, that they rise in less than a year.

The cookie cutter of this is topped out in Atlanta. Looks just like every Novare project.

I noticed a Colliers sign on the site since at least November, so it isn't exactly anything new that I've seen. If I remember correctly, the Novare Group doesn't technically own the land for the development yet as a whole.

I think that is an old listing. As far as I know, the project is moving forward. William has been in contact with Novare.

I'm a broker at Colliers and work closely with Novare on their downtown project, Encore. The site is still under contract by Novare and has not been listed for re-sale. Colliers was the listing agent for the land and is leaving signs up (and flyers online) while the property is under contract; this is a common practice. Novare is currently working through the zoning process.

 

I'm super excited about the project and can't wait to get started! Stay tuned!

Sub Stop has issued a July closing date. That will fall in line with John's prediction of it taking a year before the buildings are cleared ( I think he said that in August of '14)

At least this is one project where we don't have to worry about how it will look, since they all look pretty much the same and IMO, pretty good.  And with extensive street activation even in places where that's not done so much (like Houston).

I'm happy to see that SubStop will be reopening. I love all this new development, but I don't like it when it comes at the cost of small businesses. Glad to know that will NOT be the case here. Hopefully they will be very successful at their new location.
