WOW if just half of what was discussed at the UP meetup at Blue Blaze comes to fruition you better watch out.  HUGE new projects in both Uptown and Southend proposed. Tall apartment towers proposed all over Southend in addition to those already revealed.  Companies circling Charlotte looking for new offices.  Ladies and gentlemen please buckle your seatbelts we are about to launch.

and no this is not a comment on the stock price of any Charlotte based publicly traded company.

Next meetup maybe August 21 and what do you think of Old Armour Brewing in downtown Kannapolis?  There is an adjacent Sabor Latin Grill and I know you can bring food over as I have seen plenty of people do it to their outside dining or their new side beer garden.  Ample free parking and local Amtrak service for those who want to come by train.  It would give some of you a look at a rapidly changing ring city of Charlotte and how their downtown is being rebuilt from scratch.  I think many of you will be quite impressed and surprised.

Departs Charlotte:  10:30 a.m. - Train: #74 Piedmont - Route: Charlotte to Raleigh, or 

Departs Charlotte:  3:15 p.m.  -  Train:  #76 Piedmont - Route: Charlotte to Raleigh

Southbound Kannapolis to Charlotte

Departs K-Town:  5:39 p.m. - Train: #77 Piedmont - Route: Raleigh to Charlotte, or

Departs K-Town:  8:24 p.m. - Train: #79 Carolinian - Route:  New York to Charlotte

I will even conduct a walking tour of the new downtown Kannapolis historical renovations of theaters, new ballpark, new apartments, new pedestrian mall, local shops etc.

So let me know you think. about 30 minutes from uptown charlotte or 27 miles.

Bring your bike and come early and explore.

Reminder and I think it is supposed to be a lot drier next weekend and they have a large outdoor seating area in front of and on the side of the Brewery next to the brand new 5 story Vida apartments with their free parking garage.

if you are looking at West A street in downtown Kannapolis on Google or Bing maps in the streetview format they  are from at least 4-5 years ago so it will look nothing like that.

It really is thriving. Reading the history of Cannon Mills was quite interesting.

Great to see new retailers opening up in the recently unfitted store fronts on Main Street.  For those who got together in downtown Kannapolis today, hopefully you got to take in the new core of the city.!

downtown Kannapolis is thriving and was this afternoon too.  Can't wait to the Fall Flurry of Towers announcements.  Towers for uptown and Southend.   Lets just say 30+ is the new 20!

what do yall think of Sept 18 Saturday for a meetup maybe at Legions new Trolley Barn at Atherton?  I will be on a Texcation later in the month so not around.  Great skyline views from the 2nd floor too
