Icon 2 is only about 170 feet tall and closer to the river. Compare that to the old Amway Grand building that is 150 feet.

The red in the middle is the DeVos Hotel. It may stand at about 270 feet, or slightly taller than the Marriott.

I had a conversation with someone last night who is friends with one of the owners of one of the antique shops in the giant warehouse across from the Amtrak Station on Century. He said that the stores have been bought out of their leases and that the building is going to be completely renovated to also include a brewery, a coffee shop/operation??? and a ton of housing. I would love to know if this is all true as this is a HUGE building in a very interesting spot. I'll ask around today as well.

I was told by someone that rents space in there that the whole thing will be moving to somewhere around 131 and 28th St.  They were told hotel.

Hmmm, that's super interesting. The building is huge and really chopped up. I went to a DJ show there a month or so ago and the spaces were super cool.

You know, I always thought Godfrey could have some warehouses re-purposed into mixed use buildings. Wonder what FH has planned for them?

That would be great. I love Lost and Found, so I hope they find a new location, but that could be a pretty incredible housing (or office) project. Will be interesting to see what happens!

Wow, good investigative work organsnyder. Those properties on Godfrey include the old McInerney Spring factory, or I think it was even owned by Keeler Brass for a while:

That building would need a LOT of work if it were ever to be used for a living space.  I used to work in portions of it about 5 years ago and it was in pretty rough shape then.

I've always thought that too.  I'm definitely curious if anythings going on with all of that.

Anyone know if this project is dead?   It was a CWD proposal that was to be built right next to their 50 Louis offices.

I was at Lost and Found on Friday and the guy there told me that the plan is to move all three vintage shops to Godfrey St where some work/live spaces will be renovated and the Century St buildings will be worked on. He said they have a three year lease so I would imagine things wouldn't actually start happening for a bit.

Does anyone know what's going on at the north east corner of Myrtle and Alpine. The old gas station has been barricaded off. Possible project of some kind?

I believe a multi-use/function housing development is going in on that conrner. Seem to recall its either Lighthouse or KCLBA affiliated.

The KCLBA assembled all the parcels over 2.5 years in partnership with Dwelling Place. 

We also were able to garner significant help from the DEQ to remove the leaky gas tanks from the ground and clean the site.

Dwelling Place has taken ownership of the land and broken ground on this mixed use affordable housing development.

Much needed for this neighborhood as the target for renters is families whose kids attend Harrison School and are being priced out of the neighborhood.

Some of that is due to the Challenge Scholars program which guarantees that kids who graduate from Harrison and then Union High get a college education paid for at any State College. 

That made and already got rental market white hot.
