Unless it gets deferred again, the expansion of the Broadway Historic Preservation District to add this block should pass the Council's third reading on Tuesday, September 9th.  That was part of the deal that was struck with the original Westin SP:  the property owners agreed to add this block back into the Historic Preservation District in the event that they ever wanted to remove the Westin SP.

 

I just hope that this deal sticks.  We really need to get someone in there to preserve those buildings.  Having guidelines to ensure compatibility of any infill on the parking lots won't hurt, either.
