Blue Canoe Brewing is teaming up with Conway's Blue Sail Coffee and expanding next door to their current location on 3rd. They will be taking over the space now occupied by Brown Sugar Bake Shop. Brown Sugar will retain their kitchen and sell their product from a food truck. This will be the third location for Blue Sail.

Blue Canoes expansion next door will include a restaurant called Taco Beer Burrito. Expected opening in early spring.

No mention of Blue Sail in the Facebook post. Wonder if that is still happening.

Stone's Throw Brewing on 9th will be adding an additional storefront to their operation. The addition will increase the taproom by 50%. With the apartments announced by MT, the apartments planned for the Donaghey Building and the announced Vib Hotel all within 4 blocks of Stone's Throw business should be looking way up.

I hear that the Vib hotel is dead.

Buffalo Brewing Company will be opening up behind Water Buffalo located just south of Markham on Rodney Parham and a  taproom will also be included. One thing that makes this brewery different is they will allow certain home brewers to use their facility and allow the finished product to be on tap. If permits are issued they plan to be up and running around Labor Day.

Yellow Rocket has purchased property in the Riverdale area and will be moving its headquarters out of the Lost Forty location. This will allow Lost Forty to expand their brewing operations.

Rebel Kettle has received new brewing equipment which will enable it to double capacity. When these  fermenters are installed RK will no longer have any space for further expansion at their location.

Blue Canoe has closed Taco, Beer, Burrito and has expanded their taproom into the space.

Blue Canoe is planning to open a new brewery and beer garden at East 15th and Security. This is located nine blocks south of Rebel Kettle. No word yet on their plans for the River Market location.

They are leaving their taproom in the River Market and will expand kitchen operations there. The owners said  business is too good because of the local traffic and the area hotels to leave.

It looks as if Core Brewing will be opening  a public house on south Main in Little Rock.

Core is now open at their SOMA location. Also, plans have been announced by Rebel Kettle to transfer their brewing operation to a new location southeast of their taproom. The new location will be around 50,000 sq. ft. and will allow them to increase production as well as to add a canning operation.

Been awhile since I last updated this topic and there have been a number of changes.

Still Brewing:

Flyway Brewing - During the restrictions of COVID  Flyway introduced  "Tent City"  on their parking lot in order to serve the public,

gSjWG5.jpg

Also, they have taken over the old Core Public House space just around the corner on Main Street to house their newest project Brood & Barley, which opens tomorrow. It will sell beers produced at Flyway but    unique to  Brood & Barley.

Diamond Beer

Lost Forty

Stones Throw - Last year they opened up a taproom in Stifft Station to serve product produced at  their original  MacPark location .

Vino's

No  Longer Brewing:

Blue Canoe

Damgoode Pies in the River Market.

Buffalo Brewing

Rebel Kettle

New in Town:

East Sixth Brewing Company - New owner, new brand and new beer located at the former Rebel Kettle location. I'm going to miss "Working Glass Hero". Hope them the best but I always liked Dead Elvis looking down upon East Sixth Street guarding East Village.

Anybody else have difficulty with the name "East Sixth"?  It doesn't roll off the tongue easily.  I'm calling it "E6".

Yeah, not a very creative name either.  Rebel Kettle seemed to have a good following.  Not sure how the rebranding will work out.

East Sixth has ceased all operations. However there is some good news for that location. Lost Forty will be taking over the location  to brew small batch beers and a new menu will be introduced for the taproom. The new brewery/restaurant's name will be released soon and a Spring 2021 opening is scheduled.

Looks like there's a new Brewery in Central Arkansas: Blade & Barrell Brewing Co. in Jacksonville.  They are are a brewery/restaurant combined with a barbershop.

Can't find a website for them, but here's their Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/bladeandbarrelarkansas/

There are also photos from their business profile on Google maps that have pictures of the menu.

It may have been a bit slower that expected to come online, but Lost Forty's successor in the Rebel Kettle/East Sixth building — Camp Taco — is now nearing completion, with a target of opening later this summer. (Edited to add:  Per Arkansas Business, a September opening is now expected.)
