Massive pieces of Stone Brewing Co.’s $42.5 million German-made manufacturing package will begin arriving to Richmond by boat next month, officials say, as construction ramps up on the facility in Greater Fulton.

Another new brewery in the works for Scott's Addition

"Vasen Brewing Co. inked a lease this month for space at the HandCraft Cleaners building at 1501 Roseneath Road. "

http://richmondbizsense.com/2016/01/13/handcraft-building-books-brewery-tenant/

"Vasen will make its debut in what has become the de facto capital of Richmond’s craft beverage scene. The Veil Brewing Co., Three Notch’d Brewing Co., and Buskey Cider are all in the works in Scott’s Addition. Black Heath Meadery, Isley Brewing Co., and Ardent Craft Ales are already up and running the neighborhood. " + Blue Bee Cider's move.  For tourism sake it may be time to coin the area as the "Brewery District" or something along those lines much like the "Art District."

More about Stone Brewing's plans for the East End.  A waterfront hotel could be a reality.

Looks like the restaurant could be quite a ways down the road, a little disappointed that it'll take so long, but I guess they have to wait for the infrastructure changes to be completed down that way. The hotel sounds awesome, I just feel, given the space available on the East End waterfront, Church Hill is going to raise hell over it.

I don't think it is quite 40, but a lot more than us and they have less than half our population. There was an article recently saying we had the highest breweries per capita and a whole bunch of people were like yea! Richmond has the most breweries. But Asheville has so many more breweries per capita, and I think we can hold more. We may have to stop opening them in Scott's Addition however, that specific neighborhood might be reaching saturation. Also having worked in a brewery we are starting to see people from other areas come in to Richmond. The more breweries we get the more beer tourism we will see.
