How about this coming out of nowhere!!  I’m disappointed, but hopefully they will build something nice in its place:

Yeah, I'm not completely surprised, that structure is pretty worn down. Hopefully they build something nice to replace it.

Strangeways/Smohk have signage up now across from Circuit (which will be moving closer to Veil/Courthouse Creek) and should be opening soon.

Crazy Rooster Brewery is going to open up in Powhatan.  https://richmondbizsense.com/2019/05/21/new-brewery-called-crazy-rooster-planned-powhatan/

Hardywood -- WestCreek is going to open up a onsite restaurant and reduce it's reliance on Food Trucks (which is one of my favorite things about the place ) https://richmondbizsense.com/2019/05/17/hardywood-launching-restaurant-inside-west-creek-brewery/

Hidden WIt Brewery is set to open in Moseley near the Richmond Metro Zoo.  https://richmondbizsense.com/2019/05/10/steam-bell-beer-works-owner-involved-fledgling-farm-brewery-moseley/

Richbrau Brewing opened this past week in Shockoe. Hope to go check them out this upcoming weekend.

We checked it out this weekend and both really loved everything we tried. They are not IPA heavy like some. We had three of their sours and they were some of my favorite I have had anywhere!

Recently checked out Tabol and Castleburg also. There is something to like about all of them, but I definitely have my favorites. We have been here since 2010 and still haven't been to them all and more will be opening soon, like Dogtown in Manchester and Star Hill in Scott's Addition.

Approved plans for what would've been the Brewery in Brookland Park.   Nice looking building!

This isn't Hardywood but some other brewery. Looks eerily similar to The Veil Brewing Company concept under construction along Forest Hill...

I'm aware.   As, @wrldcoupe4 mentioned it was suppose to be Safety Team Brewing but they backed out.   However, the plot is being marketed again and the pdf is of what the approved plans could look like.

Blue Bee Cidery is on the market .    Hopefully they'll remain and the ownership of building will just change hands, as I would hate for this to be torn down.  I read an article somewhere, that the building was constructed using old cobblestone from Richmond's streets.

RBS picked up the story today. Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price is: a cool, crisp $3.2 M :tw_thumbsup::tw_smiley:

As Johnny Olson used to say - "Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn downnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!"

While it'd be nice to keep this beautiful -- and I do mean beautiful -- cidery intact, given the development in Scott's and the fact that developers are ponying up BIG coin per acre to buy property in the neighborhood for the purposes of full-=scale redevs into something much bigger with an expected ROI - I'm honestly skeptical that anyone would willingly plunk down north of $3 M for a property in the heart of one of THE hottest and THE fastest growing redevelopment districts in a city that's now teaming with HOT redevelopment districts just to keep the old buildings and run a cidery out of it. Maybe someone would - but I can't imagine the kinds of developers who would have the pockets deep enough to snag this parcel would pay that kind of money and not be licking their chops at a large-scale apartment development opportunity. Particularly given what we've learned about just blazing hot the multi-family residential market is in the city, how pedal-to-the-metal robust the absorption rate is, and how demand is still pounding at the door even as developers pour into the city and build more and build bigger. Consider: We weren't seeing the sheer size of developments in Scott's three or four years ago that we now see in the pipeline -- where everything recently announced is in that 7 to 8 story range. (And we see how hot things have gotten in Manchester with high rise development now becoming part of normal conversation...)

I'm torn because given the location, I absolutely want to see it redeveloped. At the same time, I'd love to keep the cidery in Scott's - and the buildings are worthy of hanging on to. It would probably cost a mint to dismantle and reconstruct the cidery somewhere outside of Scott's - say in the Museum District. That would be the best of both worlds, but I don't see someone spending THAT kind of money at this time.

I do not want to see this torn down for anything. It’s perfectly fine to have a blend of old and new. This is a super unique, visually appealing property with a neat story.  It should stay. Someone will find the right use for it.

I agree 100 percent. Knowing the cobblestones used on it that were once part of the streets in Richmond makes me say no not now not ever on this building. If there is any building in this town I would fight to keep this is the one.
