Nope. This side is supposed to be a mural. Not the Kemba Walker one I joked about, but something, at least supposedly.

I can see the Moriarty folks being pretty psyched about the opening of Murphy's right around the corner which, as falsely stated in another thread, is not a same-old "faux Irish" joint

From my lunch spot in Paris Walk.  (As an aside, I was enjoying the shade from the trees in Paris Walk now that they're a couple years old, and I realized it will be REALLY shady when 300 gets done.)

yeah, most are green .  All joking aside, I'm very excited/nervous to see how the parking deck turns out.  It's still very imposing but i trust the facade along with the mix of greenery planned it will look pretty nice.

According to the construction elevator on the side looks like 22 or 23rd floor of this 33 story tower. Really making a huge impact on the skyline especially from the park.

You are correct sir. The scale of this park is decreasing rapidly with everything going up around it. I took this picture the other day to illustrate how this and 300ST/hotel will just hover over everything. Here I'm standing with MLK immediately behind me. Bearden is starting to feel like a really big pocket park from certain angles.

Don't hate me but that's how I think of it: a big pocket park. Bearden is beautiful and a great addition to the city but I wish it was at least 50% bigger. Charlotte doesn't have any big parks in Uptown or the immediate surrounding areas. Once the trees mature more it will help a lot. But for right now, the park almost looks like it's for show rather than for actual use as a park.

Thats more how I feel about First Ward Park. I feel like Bearden is pretty far on its way to becoming something special.

Anyone know what kind of trees are in Bearden right now, and how big they are supposed to grow?
