Either it's my imagination but I feel like the trees are noticeably larger and fuller now. Gonna look amazing when those trees are much bigger.

The trees are irrigated and have great access to sun, they're going to do very well very quickly. Right now the shady spots are premium space at lunch time, can't wait until shady spots are the norm!

This is a little off topic... but relates to the above comment about watering trees.... does Bearden have underground detention and/or water catchment cisterns?  Same question for 1st ward park. If not, then why not?

Has anyone else noticed the leaning column in the middle of the pictures? 

I am not a licensed Engineer but I also don't think structural columns should look like the Tower of Pisa.

They are going to feature the Grove at Grand Bay style now. 

It is probably for the parking structure or to make way for parking.

That column is exactly how they built and formed it.

Parking decks actually take a good amount of time to pour. Once the parking deck is done, the apartment floors will zoom up faster.

As much as people probably hate 11 floors of parking, this is probably going to be one of the most car-free buildings in Charlotte. If you're parked on the 5th floor or above you're not going to want to wind your car out of the awful parking garage just to go a short distance.

Based off my own experience this is true.  I got unlucky P8 of Trademark, which is the last level.  In 3 years I have only 10k miles on my car.

Plus from past examples, whenever the deck is also the foundation for the tower, there is more complexity, so it takes even longer than a deck alone. 

 

The decks that go up fast are from prefabricated panels.

Still fidgeting with that ramp, I see. Stabilizing the supports for those also takes some time on the ground floor as things settle. Shouldn't be too long before this first one is poured.
