I'm still confused by this.  Isn't Catalyst 338 feet and 27 floors?  How are they able to cram 6 more stories in the same height?

^ I'd guess all of the levels of parking, most garages I've been in are pretty low heights, and the plates aren't terribly thick either.

Ding Ding Ding. Winning Answer. Catalyst does not have a podium of parking. Parking floors are a good bit shorter than Residential.

This new development is ruining all of the historic loft parking lots in Charlotte.

This thing is actually pretty gigantic.  When you are coming into uptown from the east on 4th street, it is already quite prominent.

Anyone else feel like this is too big or out of place? It almost looks like it's going to block a good bit of the skyline from BB&T seats.

If we always had to worry about blocking views, we'd still have a downtown that looked more like that much maligned photo of uptown in the 70's, with lots of open space between buildings. 

I think the size is perfect, and this is going to be a very attractive building. It IS part of the view.

And, before that block seemed so small. Hard to believe how much can fit in a small space.  I noticed the SCREE Hotel is at ground level now. Same sort of thing.

Yeah I think this building is perfect (if nothing is VEed). The scale is the perfect monster that 3rd ward needs. Yes it will block a lot of views from a lot of angles but as was said, this is the view.
