That's true.  I guess from my perspective, it would be done to show it correctly, but from theirs it might have been to SHOCK and AWE people.

People... ugh.

HORRIBLE!  Just disgusting!  Way too tall and makes me feel like it belongs in Shanghai, Tokyo, or Manhattan!

I'm kidding.  That looks great.

So it looks like Jeremiah's will in fact be part of the new City Centre development. I had been wondering what would become of this location after it was recently razed.

In this article is also a link to another new 60M project at 1070 Maitland Blvd that I have never heard of before. A nice-looking mixed-use center with an organic grocery as the anchor:

Maitland, Maitland, Maitland. Every piece in the OBJ lately seems to be about the next company coming to new digs in Maitland.

Now I have nothing against Maitland. Helped out a band at what I considered a very out of the way bar in Maitland that was packed with the after-work crowd. But why not the CBD? Does Orlando not have enough office space or are we chopped liver?

Oh - I don't think it's apples to apples.  Without looking at any difference in lease rates, there are pretty big differences in things like parking and surrounding demographics. Daily traffic on 17-92 in Maitland is 33,000.  Orange Avenue through the CBD is 7,800.

Sort of related note - I picked up Jeremiah's at my wife's request at the new south of Downtown South location (Orange & Drennan) and there was a line.  It was 60 degrees out.  What an unbelievable following.

Every time I drive by these orange groves I wonder A) how is this still here, and B) what is going to eventually be developed here. I had never heard of this before, but apparently this has been in the works for over 10 years. It's a really big piece of land, and I am not sure if this new project will take up the entire space or not. I can't really tell by the numbers given here how much space that is.

City officials approve Maitland Concourse North

I just realized this is the same development I already posted about in another thread.
