Columbia Development Map

32 posts in this topic

I started building this Google development map last week when I realized the sheer amount of development occurring in Columbia. I know that I have likely missed a few projects, so feel free to recommend additions. I chose not to go too far back on completed developments, but would be willing to add more as requested. I hope this helps everyone better visualize the scope of change in the city.

Thanks! I added Aloft, the Alumni Center, Main Street Lofts, Palmetto Compress (though I don't think this will actually materialize), and the apartment building around McDonald's.

It's also miss coloring on there as most of the stuff you have under proposed is under construction and vice versa. But either way a very nice map.

Palmetto Compress is owned by a woman who puts her money where her mouth is. She has a track record. The property has a blue architectural review board sign in front of it now for a request for approval for exterior renovations.

Which ones specifically? I don't live in Columbia so I erred on the side of conservative.

Sure. but I don't have the tools like CarolinaGarnet has to make a high tech map. I might just make a list with a standard map with all the Updates.

I was just thinking about this given the number of announcements recently. The pace of development in Columbia is out of control. If you guys can help me with the list, I will try to update it this week.

What program you use to make your Map?

No program, I just use the tools Google Maps offers. The map itself is supposed to be open for editing by anyone with the link, but I guess it's not. I'll make these updates.
