I think members of the DDB and City etc really need to go to other cities where redevelopment has occurred and gage what they're doing against plans and designs they are considering to approve or change here.  If they are already doing it, then they need to do more of it.

That wasn't the original rendering.

I kinda hate how it looks now. I'm getting sick of all white and gray buildings.

I drove past it this morning. Without the brick facade on Orange it just vanishes.  The garage facade should have continued around the rest of the building.

The revised mixed-use project is out... http://www.cityoforlando.net/city-planning/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/04/ARB2015-00060report.pdf ... Now sponsored by Crescent Communities... and apparently to be done in phases.  While I'm sad the high-rise appears to be tabled for a while, I think that that corner will look vastly better with this on it, and could *MAYBE* start the connection of CBD to SODO.  Also, the over the top ARB staff gushing comments are pretty amusing.

That part of the building has always been white, at least as far back as the 2016 rendering, above (far right of photo). The rest of the buildings will be mostly brick. Updated rendering of the above:

The whitewashed façade and the mix of brick and white accents look sophisticated, but not as severe as continuous dark brick. I would love to see more of this style in the CBD or Parramore to tie into our historic downtown streets.
