Reynolds American has donated Whitaker Park and surrounding buildings and land (to the tune of 120 acres) to a development group that includes Wake Forest.  This could be as big or even bigger as the 180 acre Research Park downtown because the buildings available already in place could be a magnet for recruited  pharmaceutical companies or industries.

Looks like the coalition of Winston-Salem Business, Winston-Salem Alliance, and Wake Forest University will hit the city and county for funds for infrastructure improvements around Reynolds Boulevard from Akron Drive.
