Charlotte's Stonewall Station has a twin in Raleigh's North Hills Midtown project. Ours is downtown with a Whole Foods anchor and theirs is in the suburbs along I-440.

Very interesting things going on with the whole foods buyout.  I'm wondering how far along the build-out of this store is, and if it could possibly be a prime location for amazon go's first store??

 

Pretty cool that this guy called the buyout months ago,  I really had no idea of amazon's intentions with entering the grocery industry.

Today Stonewall Station. I think Whole Foods will open as proposed. Probably some Amazon lockers but too early to make any big changes to WF stores.

Today Stonewall Station.

Took a sweaty walk around south end of the uptown today. Stonewall Station and can't wait to wave to the people in the apartments from the station platform. The upper platform area will have the 2nd level of Whole Foods and an outside dining area. This project has a massive impact on the streetscape from any direction. Noticed today some of the stick built apartments facing Stonewall are brick and some are fiber cement siding.

Like many have said before, this project is pretty massive in-person.  I also imagine the price points for these apartments to be some of the highest Uptown: The location, anchored by Whole Foods, and is the only residential tower within the 277 loop with direct light rail access (currently).  Can't beat it!

My first trip into uptown (along South blvd) in a year today yielded two big surprises:

1) this thing is impressively huge as you cross 277

2) the parking deck from this angle is AWFUL (this is one level better than gawdawful).

2. from South Blvd Caldwell side there will be 2 hotels one which should start soon to block the view of the garage.

Walked around uptown this morning here is the latest from Stonewall Station and one aerial shot and one side shot.  Like where that pool will be with its views. I know the side view is ugly but overall I really love this project.

Today from above, platform, far way views of Stonewall Station. The coffee bar/take out restaurant glass box above the Whole Foods is coming together nicely. There are still 2 cranes on site.

Just saw where the new Home2Suites was permitted and it has a 610 S Caldwell address.
