in other words, they might not have known what they were getting into when they approved this being completely fabricated units, delivered and put in place.

English language story: College friend was student from Japan. His language skill was acceptable though his accent was distinctly Japanese. Some years later we reconnect here in the US and he tells me of his business opportunity with a company in City Come Baddy. Come again? He repeats City Come Baddy. After the third repetition I am too embarrassed to ask again. He writes the name for me: Silicon Valley. 

Japanese has no "L" and no "V" sounds. (They also have sounds we do not use.)

haha, yea. I wish I could share more, but I haven't been able to confirm the validity of my tip, so I don't want to defame the city if its not true.

What are the pitfalls of this pre-fab construction? I'm just trying to understand why it would be such an issue that the whole project has to be reconfigured after construction has already begun?

Growing pains are fine, as long as we learn from our mistakes along the way...

That brick facade against the grey sheathing makes the latter look super cheap. They should've continued the brick at least to the corner, and to the top of the second level, continuing the line of the copper-y portion. The didn't even have to continue the brick around the other side, since it looks as if it's more homogeneous.

Lemon Love Nail Salon opened this morning. Didn't really see anybody in there, but was nice to see more than just window stickers along this block.

The entire building looks cheap. And the colors make it worse for the materials. Why doesn’t anybody just do one solid brick structure anymore instead of all these mixed cookie cutter materials. Ugh

It's a way to create "depth" when there's no real depth in the building itself because you're maximizing every possible inch of allowable building footprint. But there's also probably a city design requirement about having to change colors every ______ feet.

So, it looks like Asana just purchased the stalled Even hotel site from that developer about 4 weeks ago. I thought it was this thread, but guess not, where @KJHburg posted JLL marketing new office space on this block.  Given Asana has been primarily a retail developer, I guess they are looking to get into office or have a partner.

They did? It’s listed in the deeds as the old developer still

Got confirmation they just bought the retail of the building. Not the entire thing or the land itself
