The Athletic has a good story about the Panthers’ facility in SC.....240 acres, potential light rail into CLT, a state of the art Atrium Health medical facility, 15% open space, potential entertainment area leveraging the Harrah’s Casino tie in with the Panthers, residential, office, hotels....this is a much bigger deal than originally envisioned.  And, a great extension of Charlotte into SC.

Along with the potential for SC’s first light rail, the new tallest building in S.C. could be in Rock Hill.

most structures would be in the 26 story range with a signature tower up to 485’.

this project is really interesting and if built out, a great investment for the state.

So the tallest building in NORTH and SOUTH Carolina is going to be in Rock Hill?

  Color me skeptical.

No, the tallest building in NC is the BofA Corporate Center at 871’.  At 485’, this building would be in the 10 range for tallest in Charlotte.

I don’t see it happening in the near future.  But, it shows this project is more than a Panthers’ HQ and gives S.C. a legitimate site to attract a large HQ....maybe even BMW NA will move down from Jersey.

Rock Hill/Fort Mill/York County I-77 Corridor is going to be a mini NOVA soon lol. Especially with a lot of companies jumping the state line or choosing to locate in the area. It'll look like it with skyscrapers in the suburbs.

As long as I-77 in York County doesn't become the parking lot that I-95 in NoVA is....UGH.
