Damn... they're not messing around...

No they are not. I bet this building is open in two years or less. They will fly form this with tables and it will shoot up like bamboo which can grow 6 feet a day.  This building could top out by December of this year. 25 stories @ two weeks per floor makes sense,.

Large law firm to become second big tenant in Hines/Hayes 222 South Second Avenue Tower (story behind paywall right now, so no more details currently):

Woner what % is already leased or in talks to lease.  Seems like they are off to a good start.

this building completely takes away the view of The Sobro and its curves when you are at Ascend Amph unfortunately, but all in all I think the street level retail will be a positive for the area.

This and density, density and more density.

The first part of your quote is a big city problem...glad we're getting to that point.

Hines opening office in Pinnacle Tower so prospective tenants can see progress on Hines/Hayes Tower construction. This also happens to make the Pinnacle 100% leased at this point.

Also, according to another article by William Williams at the Post: "Saturday is expected to see the arrival of about 130 concrete mixing trucks on the 222 2nd construction site (the building is picture here) in SoBro.Nashville-based C.B. Ragland is teaming with Hines of Houston to develop the 24-story mixed-use tower (read more here). “It is an exciting milestone that we are wrapping up below-grade work and will see framework rise in less than a month,” said Michael Hayes, Ragland president. “The building will begin to assume definition shortly thereafter".”

Another rendering we haven't seen before showing the structure from the lawn at Ascend Amphitheater.

Do you guys think it would have been better (visually) if they had flipped this building with the office tower portion closer to 1st Ave instead of 2nd?
