My dad was a partner at GS&P and worked there for 40 years (recently retired). I remember their first building on State Street, their offices on West End, their offices in City Center and this just looks like some hipster coffee spot. City Center was my favorite, but they were somewhat limited with their space. I really wish they did something more like what they designed in China:

I remember their four person office in the Sudekim Building. That's how far back my personal connection goes.

Nashville restaurateur Terry Raley has landed a permit related to the build-out of the 222 2nd space to be home to his Liberty Common.

- The permit is valued at about $470,000. The restaurant will take a space spanning about 7,600 square feet.

- Will be located mid-block fronting First Avenue between Demonbreun and Molloy streets.

- Liberty Common is the first retail/restaurant business committed to the soon-to-open building, co-developed by Houston-based Hines and C.B. Ragland Co. of Nashville and with an address of 222 Second Ave. S.

- A June opening is planned.

Frasier, Dean and Howard accounting firm has signed a long-term lease to take a large section of the 12th floor of 222 2nd Ave. South. I'm guessing the building must be close to 90% capacity now.

The Green Pheasant Japanese Cuisine is to open as one of the main restaurants on the main floor of the 222 Building (corner of Molloy and 1st Ave. South).  Will seat 184 patrons.

It would be nice if the SoBro area could get a few more affordable lunch spots (like in the Arcade). All the new buildings, with the high retail rents, don't leave many spots for those types.

Atlanta has Peachtree Center.  Something like this would be awesome for downtown workers (like me) that eat out more than I should that would like cheaper choices in ONE SPOT.  I would think that something like this would be very popular with the tourists too.  Many of them come on a budget.

I know it is a few years out yet, but it sounds to me like the 5th and Broad development will be doing a great deal to address that need.
