Busy Weekend Next Weekend

Hartford is gearing up for a pretty busy weekend next weekend 3/14 - 15.  The AAC Tournament kicks off on Thursday 3/12 with the semi-final round on Saturday which also coincides with the annual Hartford St. Patrick's Day Parade.  There is also a cheerleading event at the convention center Saturday and Sunday.  Should be a really active and fun weekend to get out and about downtown, as long as the weather isn't totally crazy.  I'm really anxious to see how the city does hosting the tourney.  With a new arena in the works it could be a good harbinger of things to come for the city.  I defintely want to get down there for the parade and then go see UConn play in the semi-finals of the tournament with dinner afterwards.  Hopefully the wife and I can make it happen, and hopefully UConn cooperates by winning their early round game(s).

 

The city has already drawn up traffic and parking plans so hopefully these will keep frustration as low as possible.
