I wonder when they will start construction of upper 10th Ave. It seems like it would be extremely difficult to start this during the construction of the Amazon tower since lower 10th is the ONLY access to the site. I guess they may be able to use Church street to get materials on the site?

Good question. It looks like based on the renderings that it ends at the end of the full Amazon lot.

I believe Upper 10th will only go at most one block north and south of Church, primarily for the purpose of access at 'street' level for the Amazon lobby and the parking garage. The renderings I've seen of the southern portion look like a courtyard and access to the Nashville Yards tower and the MGM Park hotel.

Ok...I know I probably asked this before...but I've blinked since then, clearing all of my memory. 

Will it be one tower right now with parking being next to it (where tower 2 will go)...and then tower 2 built on top of parking at a later date?  Or...is tower 2 being build right now as well?

Right now they are building the complete parking structure and 1 tower. Later they will build the second tower on top of the northern half of the parking structure.

Looks like at least Amazon tower one will be a steel frame structure. This is different than most recent Nashville towers right?

Recent trends are concrete for residential and steel and concrete for office towers. Concrete has a high insulating value and is great for sound control between units. Also, with the post tensioned concrete (the cables that are in the slabs) we can typically span further without support. Both steel and concrete also have a high resistance to fire, but they are incredibly energy expensive to create and build.

Wood is Coming!!! Cannot wait to really see mass timber take off more around the country. Cross Laminated Timer (CLT) actually preforms better in many fire tests than concrete and steel plus it is the only building resource on earth that is carbon negative!! It absorbs for CO2 that it takes to harvest, transport and erect, incredible stuff!! I'm not opinionated or excited on the topic of wood at all

I'll fully admit it's just an irrational perception issue with me... I've read all the articles and seen all the studies about how timber skyscrapers are at least as fire resistant than a steel frame structure... but the thought of living hundreds of feet up in the air and only being held up by some Lincoln Logs still freaks me out!  Lol
