Bye bye sidewalk

Great to see the progress of this development, but is this going to be yet another example of no temporary sidewalk being constructed? This would be one of the most necessary spots for a temporary sidewalk due to the busy nature of Broadway.

The AEG portion of Nashville Yards is modifying some of it's 3.9 acre plans:

- The hotel is going to be larger than the original 240 rooms, and will offer more amenities.  No size, height, or brand has been disclosed yet.

- There will be roughly a dozen food-and-beverage outlets, a bowling alley, and other features.

- The movie theaters may no longer be 9-10 screens. Probably fewer.

- The 700 seat music club is no longer part of the project.

- The 4,000 seat theater is still the cornerstone element.

- It will take a little more than two years to finish the construction once underway.

^ ^ ^ The AEG hotel will be larger than previously stated.  The first rendering showed a 17 story building, and it was supposed to be 240 rooms.  The new version will have more rooms (not sure how many, or if the structure will be taller, or just more spread out).  Will find out soon.  The other hotel, the Hyatt Regency, is set at 23 floors and 591 rooms.

For reference LA Live, which AEG owns/controls, has a 7,100 seat theater (Microsoft Theater) in Los Angeles at the Staples Center, Convention Center complex. It is impressive.

Ours will be 4,000, but should still be grand. This is a big deal!

Microsoft Theater in LA ^^^^^^^^^

I wonder if this theater will pull one of the countless country music award shows to Nashville (beyond the CMAs)

I don't know either way, but are we sure it is this type of formal theater like above or could it possible more like THE ANTHEM that was just built in DC which is more of a 4,000 concert venue. The article uses "concert venue" not theater which makes me think more like The Anthem below but I could be overthinking it.

Sullivan Tower is going to be imploded after all.  A notice distributed to owners and occupants of nearby properties yesterday from the D.H. Griffin Company subcontractor states, "Implosion is tentatively scheduled for mid July."

This will definitely keep things moving forward with AEG's entertainment district of the massive development getting underway this year.

Also, a tower crane being erected on Hyatt Regency site today.  This shot from William William's Twitter feed, looking north from Demonbreun viaduct.  I'll attempt to get a closer shot later today.
