I read today that MGM Resorts is laying off a quarter of their workforce-I wonder if putting a hold on this would be a part of their cost cutting measures,

I hope not-that hole looks bigger than Lake Palmer.

Yeah...looks too much like "Nashville Styrofoam Stucco" from a distance.  And yes...the lights help make up for that faux pas.

They are well above the garage level now. It's safe to assume they're going all the way to complete the second tower.

They’ve stalled out at this level for a while because they don’t have the permits for the tower yet. They’re still working on the parking deck, and the tower will continue up from here. They’ve applied for them, but the city hasn’t issued them yet. I’d imagine they’ll be issued soon, and the tower will start rising again.

Today I noticed that the first piece of wind or sun shield (fins?) had been affixed to the front of Amazon One.  They appear to be ready for more going up.

Excavation on the MGM Hotel and AEG Entertainment District has reached bottom on the Southeast corner.

But blasting is still occurring on the deeper Northeast corner.

This has to be the biggest excavation in downtown history.
