You said "Phase 1 28 stories." Are you saying you meant to say that phase 2 is 28 or stories, and not phase 1?

Phase I is 28

Phase 2 is “28+”

how did the train station look? was it as "grand central station"-esq  as they made it out to be? curious

Good question.   No.  Based on renderings, it will be an office building lobby with a coffee bar and some TransitScreen type displays which would be great.   The boarding/deboarding will likely not feel any different than Florida Hospital.   Of course, Marriotts bar and restaurant will all be under the same roof.

They did emphasize that the lobby will have more seating and collaboration space than normal sterile “don’t loiter” office lobbies but that’s already a trend we’ve seen in buildings like Landmark Center and Exchange.

Foxtail in the Bank of America building (w/ DoveCote) now has Grab N Go stuff. I could see another going there.

At this rate, this building will top off before the repainting of 55W.

So, with regards to Orlando “firsts” this will be the first hotel with an elevated lobby “X” floors high, 18 in this case, on top of parking and office.  Very NYC ala Marriott Marquis.

Aspire was Downtown’s first rooftop pool.  Then came Star, Sky, Citi,

Plaza CInema is on the 2nd level of Plaza; first cinema like that in Orlando- height and location (not the first for CFLA b/c Daytona has had the Oceanwalk cinema several levels up).

Solaire is the first condo sitting on top of a parking pedestal- but lobby is at ground floor.  Star Tower came next- not sure where lobby is.  Sanctuary more or less is the same plus retail.  Same with 101 Eola.

Citrus Center was the first office tower on top of a parking pedestal- lobby ground floor; Plaza N & S are the next ones.; Dynetech/ Aspire  even newer- each with lobbies on ground floor.

55W is the first apartment tower fully on top of retail and/or parking deck.

Paramount is first residential tower with grocer in basement/first floor.

CSP is yet another addition showcasing unique mixed use configurations.  Interesting.

First sky lobby that I've ever been to was the Ritz in Chengdu China. I was geeked out and taking video of the place lol.  Will be nice to have one here in Orlando, even if it is not that tall.

I'd be pretty against rebuilding the one's fronting Church unless the interior of the new building properly matches the facades.  They should move the buildings a bit back from the tracks to allow Gertrude's Walk / Orlando Urban Trail to continue past Church.
