I vaguely remember a proposal to use the brise soleil as shade cover for a SunRail platform. That would have been the most fabulous albeit ridiculous train platform of all time. Assemble them in a kind of pergola configuration. Edited May 15, 2018 by JFW657

Seriously, though, if OMA ever builds downtown, I would like to use them for that. Or maybe if OC ever invests in a new building instead of buying Class C office space.

You're surely not making a joke about the school meeting I had about my special-needs child, are you? Even after I explained the meeting. Do you really find that appropriate Spenser? W7edwin 369 Report post Posted May 16, 2018 i thought those pieces were in an actual warehouse stacked in a corner, not on a random place [is that a water treatment facility??] dumped south of the airport.. thats embarrassing lmao 3
codypet 1594 Report post Posted May 16, 2018 (edited) When I was out there the foreman of Conserv told me they just came in and dumped them there and all of them are pretty badly damaged. He didn't know what was gonna happen to them. Almost 3 years later they're still out there. Edited May 16, 2018 by codypet 1 1

HankStrong 1942 Report post Posted May 17, 2018 (edited) Oddly, there is a quick service restaurant that I do that with about their horrible, blaring music. Every single time I go, I do their web survey and note the music sucking. It's also only THAT particular location. orange87 750 Report post Posted May 31, 2018 (edited) I think this will possibly have an even bigger impact than the SunTrust building (from I-4 anyway). I drove past it going south on I-4, and even at only four stories so far it's presence was already felt. This is going to tower over I-4 when completed. nite owℓ 1010 Report post Posted June 1, 2018 (edited) With as much emphasis the city put on the developer to make this building an amazing gateway gem, I really hope the city does some serious streetscaping in the immediate vicinity to spruce the place up a bit. With the half arsed retention pond right across the street, unsightly rural-looking berms, back end of city commons parking garage (with no artwork) etc it's almost hypocritical for the city to ask the developer to come up with a flashy building for such a rough looking area without contributing anything. metal93 244 Report post Posted June 2, 2018 Agreed. The massive garage wall I feel would be a great place to put in some kind of green wall or screens to grow vines on, especially being in close proximity to a soon to be massive highway interchange where carbon capture would really help. That's the least the city could do. FDOT needs to make that unsightly pond into a park or something. It's been done plenty of times in other places. But that's something FDOT won't do. How much water does the thing really collect anyways? I can't remember how it must have looked after Irma.
