Does anyone remember when work is supposed to begin on the Ardrey Kell extension to Tilley Morris from Waverly?

Parts of it are being built but there is a missing link not sure the timetable. the new Pulte home community off Tilley Morris has a part of it open or underway now and of course there there is a section from Waverly.

I am amazed that the huge corner lot on New Town and Providence (by Weddington Chase) remains undeveloped.

This is the last segment, just not sure when it is scheduled to be completed.

then it is well underway I remember driving into the new Pulte neighborhood but they had the street blocked so I could not get all the way.  once that complete is more complete I am sure it will open then.

Driving south on Providence went by the renovated Strawberry Hill shopping center at Providence/Fairview/Rama.   They built a new Fresh Market and Superica is going in the old Fresh Market space once renovated.   1. new apartments across Providence from SH  2. 3. New Fresh Market 4. new Superica location and patio will be right.

Further south along Providence here are some updated photos of Rea Farms Village.  New Hyatt hotel starting soon and Overture (age restricted apartments wrapping up)  Homes and townhomes booming at the site.   CMS STEAM school started.  Only thing in this mixed used community by Lincoln Harris not started is the office buildings.

While I do like the lawn and ground floor retail, I’d have to say Waverly is my favorite of the two, if not one of the best mixed use developments in the region. It’s constantly bustling with people walking from work, to home, or to the awesome selection of dining and shopping. Not to mention the architecture and green space is phenomenal, some may disagree.

Rea Farms Village is booming with new townhomes and homes.  The senior apartments Overture are almost done.  Today.   The only thing not yet started in the hotel and office buildings.  Most of the retail in now open but not all and apartments are complete.

Lunch at Waverly today and boy is this place popular.  Saw office workers streaming out to go eat or shop.  Also I drove to both ends of the Adrey Kell Rd extension.  It seems there is a one little wooded section between the new Pulte home development  behind it and Waverly.   Then Adrey Kell meets up with Tilley Morris Rd at a new traffic center.  Also the old Harris Teeter anchor shopping center is getting ready for demolition in front of Rea Farms Village along Providence Road.

I'm surprised that they're demolishing the shopping center on Providence in front of Rea "We Bulldozed The" Farms Village.   That shopping center can't be more than 20 years old, probably newer.  Seems like another tenant could have occupied the space.  What are they replacing that plot with?

Agreed but with a brand new Mega Harris Teeter right behind it I don’t think that shopping center could’ve supported anything without a grocery anchor.

the land where Rea Farms Village was a golf course for many many years.  The shopping center will be demo'ed to incorporate it in the retail spaces of Rea Farms Village though I have not seen the plan yet.

out in outer south Charlotte today at Rea Farms Village. 

1.  the new mega Duckworths  2.3. new CMS STEAM K-8 school is huge 4. No one under 55 need apply at these apartments Overture   5. But youngsters can live at these apartments 6. new Hyatt Place hotel started. 7. 8.9. new retail and apartments at RFV including the mega Duckworths  10. new Marriott branded hotel going up at Providence Farms across the street can't remember the exact brand.

Well the time line certainly fits.

Does anyone remember when they were going to spend millions on the Arboretum ? All I see is pylons and landscaping. The structure is threadbare and no longer conveys upscale.

Yeah, I thought the renovations were going to focus on ingress/egress/parking with a roundabout here and there. From what I can tell nothing is happening. With the holiday shopping season right around the corner I highly doubt anything is gonna happen this year(or maybe ever?).

Atrium Health is building a freestanding  emergency department as well as a medical office building.

I have lost touch with reality.  When a friend told me that apartments at Waverly are over $4,000 per month, I thought she was stoned.  I mean we're talking about a suburban "urban living" glorified strip center.  Non-high-rise apartments.  4 grand?  No way.

Providence Rd @ International Dr.

These are all LevineLand properties from the apartment complex to the "plaza/retail" center in the back of International Dr

The property in question for this post is the Providence Square shopping plaza with the pond right next to it.

Over the past few months there has been some REALLY SLOW demo work going on on one of the buildings (removing HVAC equipment, etc), this morning I was passing by and decided to divert and check on the progress.

They started demo work on the second building (on the left), the slow and cautious demo was for the building on the right.  They seem to be ripping up the actual building in this case.

Has anyone heard any plans for this property? (total of 7.5 acres, but hidden off Providence Rd)

speaking of Providence Road the town of Weddington is named the BEST suburb in NC.  Located next to Marvin north of Waxhaw west of Wesley Chapel and south of Charlotte is there any wonder.

Weddington and Waxhaw are gorgeous, but unless you work from home, commuting is a nightmare.
