I agree I was in the area for lunch today.  Hawk is rising one more floor it looks like.   and Shake Shack is well underway and no lines today at Jeni's LOL.

The Hawk is indeed topped out and the first glass has appeared.  Today.   Does anyone know if this fast pre finished concrete panels high rise construction cheaper than a traditional tower of this size?  I know tilt up big box warehouses are done this way all the time.

Signage was up for the chocolate shop next to candlebar this morning

Yes absolutely it’s cheaper.  Because of the faster construction as well as the indoor fabrication process.  Cast in place (CIP) Concrete is more expensive and time consuming due to placing /securing of reinforcing (each level) as well as Cure time (slower in winter time) once the concrete is placed.

The drawback of Precast Construction is that it doesn’t easily lend itself to very customized shapes/sizes hence the Hawks boxy nature.  Sexy Shapes, Custom curvatures, death defying Cantilevers, etc. will mostly remain in the realm of CIP Construction.  Precast & Modular (stalled Hotel at Stonewall) Construction will remain with some Market Share though as it fills a niche.

If it's anything like or similar Bath and Body Works, I know. My wife single handedly supports our local Bath and Body Works. I never knew how one person can own so many candles. She just mentioned that we're getting "low". We have minimum 10 in our house with maybe 6 unused. "Yes dear". So a candle shop making it in Southend? I believe it.

It’s not. It’s for bachelorette parties, you make your own candles and drink wine. I believe.

A few years ago in the Pavilion, now under renovation across from the Atherton, there was a pottery decorating and glazing shop. Short life.

I think there was a wine and painting shop somewhere, cannot recall. Hep me somebody.

There was (still is?) a wine and painting shop right on the corner of Camden and West. My husband and I had one of our first dates there.
