Agreed, @roads-scholar - it's funny, after that was announced, as I talked to folks about it, invariably they'd say, "that piece of land doesn't look big enough to hold that!" or something like that.  I think the lesson to learn is you can often get a lot of building into a spot... something to remember as we try to build even more infill properties around the central city.  To me, residential infill is one of the keys to growing the city's population - more places to live in the city center equals more residents and taxpayers in the city!

Brick will begin on the rear elevation in mid November.  Exterior mechanical penetrations must be installed prior to veneering the

exterior. Windows and doors should be installed in the next two weeks.  Also, I understand that Royce Camp is already in the planning

stages of another building downtown that would be very similar in scale to the Wall St.  Building. That one should start soon after this

one finishes up.

Any clue as to where?

I saw some work going on along Spring at that location a week or so ago - it looked like some kind of electrical box was installed right at the sidewalk - or at least some odd contraption.  So maybe something is underway.  Often in the summer that lot gets very overgrown.  I've always thought some nice townhomes along Spring would be a nice way to connect downtown with Hampton Heights, particularly if they could have a brownstone look.

Finally, an update on this project from the H-J.  The building should be completed by August or September.  Units will rent from $900 - $2700 per month (most $1200-1400), and a few have already been (informally) reserved.  No commercial tenants have been confirmed, but talks are scheduled this week with a casual dining restaurant that, if signed, would take two-thirds of the ground floor space.  The view from the penthouse unit (the $2700 one) looks very nice!
