Dickson County: The 100,000 sq. ft. Renaissance Center in Dickson is going to be transformed into a Christian-based facility to be called The Wonders Center & Science Museum will be the new name for the over 20-year-old, distinctive facility in Dickson.  In addition to the museum, the facility will be the television studio for the Genesis Science Network, which is operated by David Rives Ministries.

Sumner County: Hendersonville will be home to RallyPoint Motor Condos (2 stories, 31 "condos" for cars/garages on 4.5 acres at 752 E. Main St.

I remember going there when I was in high school, just after it opened, for planetarium shows and science discussions (an actor playing Michael Faraday discussing electricity was particularly memorable). Not to get into a deep political discussion, but there aren't many opportunities for exposure to the fine arts and sciences outside of Nashville. To see it evolve into something that peddles pseudoscience in the clothing of a real museum is disheartening.

You try to cover yourself saying you won’t get into a deep political discussion then immediately start a political discussion.  Just bc you state this “peddles pseudoscience”absolutely  does not make it so. Your political statement is disheartening. I actually come on UP to learn about metro/area economic development period. To quote Joe Friday, “Just the facts, ma’am”.

Thanks, Nashusker!  The anti-Christian political rhetoric is extremely divisive, usually based on less-than-half truths, and demands conformity.  There will be a lot of science in this center and the visitors will walk away with a greater respect for this amazing world we live in and, hopefullly, some will be motivated to start a career in the STEM professions.  This center is a positive for Middle Tennessee.

Considering that I am a rather devout Christian myself, I don't think what I'm saying here is anti-Christian rhetoric, I really don't.  Maybe I'm wrong, but it's really tough to see this as anything other than taking what in previous years was a good resource for the region and turning it into a fundamentalist church cloaked in sciency-sounding turns of phrase.

Calling an organization that tries to use science to push young-earth creationism a pseudoscience isn't anti-Christian. It's anti-young-earth-Creationism-claiming-it's-science.

When I see something like this “One thing you won’t find in our displays and exhibits is evolutionary theory,” associated to a science museum, I tend to agree with the above statement. I'm not trying to be anti-christian or anything (if that is your faith, it is your faith), but if a center is talking about "highlight amazing design in anatomy, astronomy, physics, mathematics, biology, and more", but leaving out evolution, you are opening yourself up to some serious question marks. 

Now this is my opinion and folks can disagree with that.

I was thinking the exact same thing. All they're doing is making fancy self-storage. The only people I could see this catering to are those who have spent a LOT of money on a high-rise condo that doesn't offer parking. At $250k a pop, anyone else is just going to live somewhere that already has a 2-car garage.

Especially since the Nashville Motorsports Enclave coming to Nolensville is essentially the same thing but with a racetrack. Without a racetrack it's just fancy storage units.

Wilson County: Lebanon's proposed Hartman Crossing site (119 single family homes on 43 acres at Rutledge Lane and Hartsville Pike) has been sold for $1.95 million by Hartman Crossings Development Group, Inc. The buyer is homebuilder D.R. Holton.  No word on if the latter will retain the same plans (3 of 7 stages are either complete or u.c.).

Montgomery County: Clarksville has approved Miller Farm, a 98 acre, 137 home subdivision on Ashland City Rd. between Acorn and Shellie Drive. Mark Holleman will be the developer.

Williamson County: Franklin's The Hill will be 2 & 3 story structures with 39 affordable housing townhomes at 403-405 5th Ave. North behind the Sonic Drive In off of Hillsboro Rd.  A city-owned former warehouse for water and fleet management will be razed.  The Franklin Hill Project, LLC is a collective of four local housing-focused nonprofits — Hard Bargain Association, Franklin Housing Authority, Community Housing Partnership of Williamson County, and Habitat for Humanity Williams-Maury. It will have a $10 million cost.

Williamson County: Spring Hill will see The Chartwell at Kedron Square, a 124 acre, 292 unit multifamily project with several 3 story apartment structures, 27 single family cottages, and commercial spaces. Chartwell Residential is the developer; Franklin Construction is the contractor.  Work should be done by the end of 2023.

Williamson County: Brentwood Middle School has been given the go ahead for a $40 million expansion by the Williamson County Commission. The 4 year project will be complete in 2025. No renderings yet.

Williamson County: Highland Ventures/Marco Pizza will relocate their corporate HQ from Chicago to Brentwood with an $8.2 million investment that will create 80 new jobs.  The chain has locations in 30 states and Puerto Rico.

Wilson County:  Mt. Juliet will see Midd Tenn Powersports on 18 acres along Golden Bear Gateway north of I-40.  It will include a hotel, three restaurants and a 20,000-square-foot shopping center. The entire development will cost around $40 million. The land was purchased for $4.25 million by Mid Tenn Powersport's owner, Eddie Collier, last week. Construction will begin in 90 days, with most everything completed in 17 months.

Wilson County: Mt. Juliet  will see 2 more large developments:

1) Golden Bear Place (600 homes, hotel, retail, restaurant, gas station) on 78 acres near Beckwith Rd. and Golden Bear Gateway.

2) Lifestyle Communities is planning a 655 multifamily units complex  on Central Pike.

Wilson County: Mt. Juliet may see a new 8 acre, $150 million town center that is being proposed by Lineberry Developments/Imagine1 Company, and Centric Architecture.  Located at the  intersection of North Mt. Juliet Rd., East Hill St. and Caldwell St, it would include a 4 story City Hall/Offices entailing up to 40,000 sq. ft., a 1 story 5,000 sq. ft. retail building, a 5 story, 60,000 sq. ft. office/retail building, two 2 story buildings with up to 40,000 sq. ft. of office/retail, two 4 story residential buildings with 245 units, a 4 story parking garage, a fire station, a central green, and a public square.  Everything is in the very rough planning stages right now between the developers and Mt. Juliet City Council.

Logistically, that'll be a fun one. Looks like a somewhat reasonable land acquisition project. Then phasing will certainly be required as they will have to build the new city hall in the lower left corner first (building A) before moving the city offices over and bring in a separate developer to do the other buildings as I cannot see the city playing developer and landlord very well.

Wilson County: Lebanon's River Oaks Phase III at Lebanon Rd. and River Oaks Blvd. will feature 34 homes. The developer is Jones Company.  Construction will begin in late August.
