Has anyone heard anything about this park and where it currently stands? They finished the bridge section what feels like 3-4 months ago and zero progress since. Is the city just waiting for new fiscal year for funding?

Williamson County: Franklin's Berry Farms Town Center will have new locations for Ludlow & Prime, Society Boutique and Sugaring NYC , This is the latest phase of Boyle Investment Co.’s retail and residential community. The section is already complete, housing 331 residential units and over 27,000 square feet of retail, which is 90% leased.

Sumner County: Gallatin's Newmans Crossing mixed-use development at Long Hollow Pike and Big Station Camp Blvd.  will add a McDonalds and Crown & Iris Boutique to its line up of retailers anchored by a Publix Grocery which opened in December.  There will also be 98 townhomes.

I drove by the other day and saw the Crown & Iris signage; I thought what a cool name for a neighborhood pub.  When I came back through, I stopped at the Publix and looked more closely at the Crown & Iris suite....nope...it's a family boutique.....but the new Publix is nice, it has the new store arrangement with the deli in the round.  That's the third Publix in Gallatin now along with the second that just opened down the road in Lebanon.  Crazy times getting crazier in Sumner and Wilson Counties.  Also, the Twice Daily adajacent to this shopping center is quite nice, and the White Bison coffee is pretty good.

Williamson County: Franklin will see another corporate HQ, this time via Saxco International LLC, which provides logistics for the craft brewery industry. It will create 100 jobs specializing in finance, accounting, customer service and purchasing 3401 Mallory Lane.  Saxco has 250 other employees scattered around the country.

Sumner County: Gallatin's Chartwell Commons at Green Lea will feature 528 rental homes (414 multi-family in 32 buildings, 65 townhomes in 10 buildings, and 49 single family) at intersection of Green Lea Rd. and St. Blais Rd. and cost $142 million. Chartwell Residential is the developer, and Franklin Construction Group is the contractor.

Wilson County: Lebanon will see a 1 story, 4 unit retail center on the corner of Murfreesboro Road and Maddox Simpson Parkway. Jay Patel is the developer, having paid $1.7 million for the property 2 years ago.

Williamson County: the Factory at Franklin (ten 1920s-era structures, 300,000 sq. ft.) continues its rebuild from Holladay Properties.

The Grand Hall, now under construction, will be the main gathering place. The center bar in the hall will mimic the building’s original glass window panes. Surrounding greenery, furnishings, courtyards and beer gardens are expected to make the space warm and inviting.

Other changes include repositioned event space and a food hall. New restaurants include the popular Edley’s Bar-B-Que chain, which will open its largest location with a patio and catering kitchen. 

Also, Franklin leaders have hinted recently that the city's professional nonprofit theater group, Studio Tenn, is likely moving here. The organization hasn't confirmed the move, although a Studio Tenn press conference is scheduled for Feb. 7.

Another artistic addition to The Factory is a locally crafted carousel — years in the making by Oregon transplant and master carver Ken Means. It will be housed in its own, new building.

Wilson County: Lebanon will see A.O. Smith Corp. (water heating commercial engineering, platform electronics, product support and product management functions) expand with a $30 million investment that will add another 150 jobs to their complex at 300 Maddox-Simpson Parkway.

Gov Lee's budget dropped tonight. Below are some random highlights that may or may not impact surrounding counties. I did not include anything healthcare, social services, education, law enforcement/security, children's services, etc. If you want the actual information go to the budget document here: https://www.tn.gov/content/dam/tn/finance/budget/documents/2024BudgetDocumentVol1.pdf. There's a good summary on pages 19-25. 

"To address infrastructure needs, the administration is proposing legislation to address Tennessee’s transportation system. The legislation proposes the use of public-private partnerships (P3s), allows for alternative project delivery, and brings the electric vehicle fee into parity with gasoline vehicles. Further, the proposed legislation establishes the Transportation Modernization Fund. This budget allocates $3,000,000,000 into the fund from the general fund for transportation projects that address congestion in all four of the Department of Transportation’s regions." 

"To encourage investment in the nuclear power supply chain in the state, the administration recommends an appropriation of $50,000,000 non-recurring for a nuclear energy supply chain investment fund.

"To strengthen tourism, the administration proposes making a grant to the city of Memphis for tourism-related infrastructure in an amount of $350,000,000 non-recurring for improvements at the FedEx Forum and Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium."

"The administration is proposing over $450,000,000 in growing state parks and natural areas, transforming contaminated areas to productive use, and supporting the state’s great outdoors industry. For state parks, natural areas, and forests, this budget recommends $328,745,700 ($324,859,800 non-recurring) in operating and capital improvements. The recommendation includes the creation of new state parks (Middle Fork Bottoms, North Chickamauga, Devil’s Backbone, Fiery Gizzard), new natural areas (Hampton Creek Cove, Short Springs, Stillhouse Hollow), and improvements to Natchez Trace Recreation Area, Scott’s Gulf State Park, and Savage Gulf State Park. Further, funding is allocated to increase park accessibility, to make a grant to the Tennessee State Parks Conservancy, to deposit funds into the Heritage Conservation Trust, and to invest in forestry conservation. For trails, $41,155,000 ($40,800,000 non-recurring) is recommended. Funds are allocated to complete the Cumberland Trail and Mountain Goat Trail, expand the Tweetsie Trail and construct a pedestrian bridge, and provide funds to the Wolf River Greeenway."

"For environmental cleanup, this budget recommends $82,730,400 ($71,485,000 non-recurring). The administration is proposing legislation to fast-track remediation and redevelopment of brownfield properties. Also, funds are allocated to clean non-National Priority List sites ($40,000,000 non-recurring), dry cleaner sites ($5,000,000 non-recurring), and a site in Oak Ridge ($25,000,000 non-recurring). Other programs funded is this category include grants to localities to improve water quality, water conservation funding, and high hazard dam remediation planning funding."

Williamson County:  Studio Tenn, a professional theater company in Franklin, announced it will call The Factory at Franklin its permanent home.

Studio Tenn, a professional theater company in Franklin, announced it will call The Factory at Franklin its permanent home.

The multimillion-dollar theater will be named Turner Theater in honor of philanthropist Cal Turner’s donation to the arts program. A tentative opening is set for August before the start of the 2023-2024 season — which will also mark the first time in the organization’s history that all of a season’s performances debut in one location.

Location:

In and around the area where the Jamison Theater was previously, next to the new Grand Hall and Mojo’s Tacos.

Amenities: 

- A lobby named in honor of philanthropists Calvin and Marilyn LeHew

- Box office, dressings rooms, spacious aisles, gathering areas, and a balcony

- Seating for 329 patrons

- Permanent lighting and professional-grade sound and acoustics

Funding:

-The “Make Believe” capital campaign aims to raise $3.5 million for construction and management of the theater.

Williamson County: Franklin's Aureum, a 22 acre mixed-use development by Chartwell Residential, has finally broken ground at the SE corner of Carothers Parkway and McEwen Drive in Cool Springs.  It will have 480 residential units, 750,000 sq. ft. of office space, 100,00 sq. ft. of retail, and two hotels with a cumulative 700 rooms.  There will be 7 structures, some as tall as 12 stories, as well as 5 acres of greens space.  The first phase that is underway will have 355 residential units.

The 10-story Millan Center is planned for downtown Clarksville...340,000-square-foot multi-level mixed-use building, will have approximately 114 residential units and 15,650 square feet of commercial office space. Amenities will include a gym, club room, and rooftop pool for tenants and guests. This will be the tallest building in downtown Clarksville.
